Release notes for MDSF Version 3.4.0
Version 3.4.0 of the MDSF software was released on 31st August 2006 and is provided as a complete installation of the software. As such, the update is too large for web download.
Fixed in this version
- Minor improvements to the social impact assessment, including easing the joining process of social data and spatial data
- Ability to map key social and emergency response data including hospitals, schools, flood warning areas, etc
- Error checking within MDSF to supply clear warnings to users that selected filenames or pathnames may lead to incompatibility problems with ArcView v3.2
- AAD now calculated for all return periods (including any user-defined return periods) and properties and agricultural damages included
- User can calculate damages for residential, non residential, unknown properties individually, or all three types at once. User can also optionally include damages to first floor properties (NPD2 only)
- Process of importing level and flow data into MDSF made clearer for users
- Option added to cap AAD to property value - default is still to not cap AAD
- Calculation of present value damages (PVd) added
- Facility to discount negative depth damages provided for non-residential properties - damage curves with or without basement damages both incorporated
- Property (multi-coloured manual) damage data reviewed and updated for full National Property Database (NPD) and NPD2 compatibility
- Minor bug fixes also addressed
- User guide and procedures updated
