For Catchment Flood Management PlanningFixed in this version

  • MDSF now operates without the need for ESRIs 3D Analyst though MDSF still requires ArcView 3 and Spatial Analyst. Significant savings expected, both on licences and through increased flexibility
  • The internal flood mapping in MDSF has been improved
  • MDSF includes an updated version of the Social Flood Vulnerability Index, generated by Flood Hazard Research Centre (FHRC)
  • The updated SFVI dataset covers every Output Area polygon in England and Wales (Output areas are the polygons at which 2001 census data was reported)
  • The new SFVI is also combined with estimates of population, which previously had to be sourced separately
  • The SFVI and population data are supplied on the MDSF Software CD
  • Minor bug fixes also addressed
  • User guide and procedures updated
