Software patches and updates
The current version of the software is 3.4.0 - 31st August 2006. You can
check the version of your own software through the Help - About MDSF menu in the MDSF
application.
- Version 3.4.0 - Full Release - This version
contains further enhancements to version 3.3.1 and is a full release. This means
it can be installed without installing a previous MDSF version first. MDSF Version 3.4.0 is
only available on CD-ROM. Please contact our support team to obtain a copy of MDSF 3.4.0
- Version 3.3.1 - Patch - Contains improvements to the SMP 'no 3D Analyst' functionality and minor bug fixes. The patch can be downloaded below (1.4MB self extracting archive). The patch can be applied to MDSF version 3.3.0.

contains further enhancements to version 3.2.4 and is a full release. This means

- Valuation Office Lookup Update - A fix for the FOCUS to Multi-Coloured Manual lookup tables distributed with MDSF 3.2.x. - Now retired
- Version 3.2.4 - Patch - This version
contains fixes to version 3.2.3 and is released as an incremental patch. This means
that version 3.2.3 must be installed before the patch can be applied. - Now retired
- Version 3.2.3 - Full Release - This version
contains further enhancements to version 3.1.0 and is a full release. This means
it can be installed without installing version 3.0.0 first. MDSF Version 3.2.3 is
only available on CD-ROM. Please contact our support team to obtain a copy of MDSF 3.2.3 - Now retired
- Version 3.1.0 - Full Release - Now retired
- Version 3.0.2 - Patch - Now retired. This patch is available on request from the support team ().

- Version 2 - Beta Testing - This version has been retired and is no longer available.

MDSF Wizard
The MDSF Wizard converts MDSF projects into a format that is viewable using only
a web browser and (optionally) ESRI's free MapExplorer 2 software. The Wizard
exports key datasets, tables and views from MDSF projects. Converted projects can
then be distributed freely as required without the need for significant additional
software installation.
It should be noted that the MDSF Wizard is not supported by the Environment Agency's
network. Environment Agency staff who wish to view the output of MDSF projects should
request that their consultants convert their MDSF projects using the Wizard and then
provide them with the results on a CD or DVD. The converted projects can then be
viewed using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or above. Additional software required
to view converted projects includes:
- ESRI MapExplorer 2
- Any CSV text or DBase IV viewer such as Microsoft Excel or Access
The Environment Agency standard desktop is installed with the above software.
Typically, exported Wizard projects will fit onto a single CD-ROM (depending on
the source dataset sizes). Larger projects may require DVD-R or similar larger
storage formats for distribution.
Please note: The MDSF Wizard uses the Microsoft .NET framework. If you do not
already have this installed, the Wizard installation will prompt you. The framework is
available to download from the
Microsoft website here
